St. Augustine Parish offers a style of worship that incorporates traditional Catholic music along with spirituals and contemporary Gospel music from the African American community. A "Children's Church" for pre-school through high school is also available at the 10:00 Mass on Sunday. Children are dismissed after the opening prayer for directed reflection on the Word of God that is age appropriate and they return to their families at Preparation time. Our next monthly Catechetical Day is Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012. The Catechists will meet the previous Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 5:30 PM to plan the day. FANNING THE FLAME! The next class on the Catholic Catechism will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15th at 10 AM AND on Sat., Feb. 18th at 10 AM. Contact Fr. Carroll for more information. PARISH FISH FRY A Fish Fry will be held at the Parish Hall on friday, Fev. 17th from 11 am to 5 PM. Orders may be placed by calling the Parish Office. Senior Gathering at 11 AM Our next Senior gathering is Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 11 AM. ASH WEDNESAY Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent is Feb. 22nd. There will be Mass with the distribution of ashes at Sister Thea Bowman School at 8:30 am and at St. Augustine Church at 7 PM. PARISH ANNIVERSARY POT-LUCK MEAL. We will hold out annual observance of the founding of our Parish on March 4th. This will also include our ending of the observance of Black History Month. A pot-luck meal will be enjoyed after the Mass. Reservation forms indlicating what dish you plan to bring and the number that will be in your party are available at the Church or by calling the Parish Office. ANNUAL PARISH REVIVAL. Our Annual Revival will be held March 5-7, 2012 with services each evening at 7 PM. Fr. Chester Smith, SVD will be our preacher. Fr. Snith will also be celebrant and homilist for the Mass on Sunday, March 4, 2012. For more information contact Fr. Carroll. SISTER THEA BOWMAN ANNUAL BANQUET & AUCTION. The annual banquet and auction will be held on Sat., March 10 at 6 PM at St. Stephen's Gym in Caseyville. For information and tickets contact Sr. Thea Bowman school at 397-0316.
