St. Augustine Parish offers a style of worship that incorporates traditional Catholic music along with spirituals and contemporary Gospel music from the African American community. A "Children's Church" for pre-school through high school is also available at the 10:00 Mass on Sunday. Children are dismissed after the opening prayer for directed reflection on the Word of God that is age appropriate and they return to their families at Preparation time. The Rosary will be prayed before Mass at 9:30 every Sunday of May. You are invited and encouraged to join us in asking our Blessed Mother to intercede with her Son in our behalf for special blessings. PARISH PICTORIAL DIRECTORY. The company will be at St. Augustine's from MAY 18-20 to take pictures for a new Parish Pictorial Directory. We would like to have 100% participation. There is no cost to you to have your picture taken. You will be contacted to set up a time to have your individual or family picture taken. Please cooperate and help us make this our most successful and complete Pictorial Directory ever. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION. St. Auguistine will celebrate First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 20th at the 10:00 Mass. FR. JOSEPH BROWN, SJ ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION. Fr. Joseph Brown, SJ, a native son of the Parish, will celebrate his 40th Anniversary of Ordination and his 50th Anniversary as a Jesuit at St. Augustine on Sunday, May 27th at the 10:00 Mass. There will be a Youth Rally with Fr. Tony Ricard at Holy Trinity Church from 10-12 on Saturday, May 26.. There will be a special "Sankofa Event: "The Circle Remains Unbbroken: Putting to Use What We Have been Inspired to Learn." at East St. Louis Higher Education Campus on Sat., May 26 from 2-6 PM. Finally there will be a reception for Fr. Borwn and Fr. Ricard at Four Points Sheraton on Sunday, May 27th at 2 PM. Reservations are required for the reception.
